The 11U Guardians finished their tournament season strong with a 9-4 win over Lakeland in the Minocqua Summer Kick-Off Tournament. They started the last game of the tournament strong by scoring 6 runs in the top of the 1st inning, led by a 2 RBI single by Hunter Waterhouse. Drew Dzienkowski led the Guardians on the mound recording 5 K’s in 3 IP while allowing 3 runs. Hunter Waterhouse recorded 2 Strikeouts on the mound as well. Brayden Olson was also 2 for 2 at the plate in the Guardians final game of the tournament.
Other highlights from the tournament include Parker Nelson striking out 3 batters in his 2 innings on the mound against Green Bay. Carter Bushendorf had a strong showing on the mound against Kettle Moraine Lutheran as well as he recorded 7 Strikeouts in 3 innings of work on the mound. Brayden Olson led the Guardians with 3 hits on the weekend. This group showed great improvement throughout the season and was a joy to be around. We are glad they are a part of the Guardian family and look forward to more growth in the coming years!
The 14U Guardians dropped a tough one to start the Minocqua Summer Kick-Off Tournament on Saturday against Grafton. Trailing early the Guardians battled back to tie the game 5-5 before losing 11-5. Michael Bromberek had a strong showing on the mound striking out 7 in 3 innings of work on the mound. The Guardians enjoyed a strong showing on Sunday morning as well from Blaine Yeakey on the mound. There next tournament will be June 23-25th in Kimberly.
