Important Note Regarding Club Commitments
If an athlete receives and accepts an offer from another club, they are not permitted to participate in our evaluation.
This is not a VSA rule — all are welcome at VSA regardless of club affiliation. This policy is dictated by the governing bodies of WYSA and TCSL, which prohibit clubs from evaluating players who are already committed to another club.

Fee: $50 · Includes tryout shirt and two separate tryout dates
These sessions will be used to determine roster placements for our Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 teams, including high school girls (Fall 2026) and high school boys (Spring 2027).
Note: High school girls’ teams will be tournament teams in Fall 2026.

Players may have up to 96 hours to accept or decline their offer. Players may request an additional 24 hours at the end of the 4-day window. Rosters must be finalized by Wednesday, August 5.
Players should try out with their true age group. Players who showcase exceptional ability at their age level may be considered for higher team placement.

- Extra socks will be on hand to purchase as well as soccer bags.

Guardians Uniform Pricing
- $180.00 – Uniforms include: One blue jersey, one white jersey, one pair of blue playing shorts, one pair of white playing socks, one pair of blue playing socks, two practice shirts.
- Guardian’s uniforms run on a two-year cycle. This will be a new kit than the one used in the 2023-24 season.
- Extra socks will be on hand to purchase as well as soccer bags.
Player Placement/ Tryout Schedules
Tryouts will take place at Valley Sports Academy inside the field house.
VSA will be hosting soccer tryouts for U16/U19 high school girls for the Fall 2024 soccer season. Fall season for high school girls will run from August – October. Roster size as stated above will be a maximum of 18 players per team. Read below on the tryout schedule & more:

Wednesday, June 12th from 6:45-8:00pm
All tryout participants will be encouraged to make both the tryout sessions to ensure proper evaluation. It is important that the evaluation criteria are transparent so that each player/parent fully understands the professional coaches’ recommendation for placement within the Guardian soccer program. At tryouts, players will be evaluated on the following:
- Technical ability | First touch, ball striking, passing accuracy, passing technique, dribbling, defensive awareness, goalkeeping (if applicable)
- Tactical ability | Decision making, game awareness
- Physical ability | Speed, endurance, agility, power
- Psychological attributes | Attitude, focus, respect, coachability, effort
- Roster decisions will be announced one week after tryouts with offers being sent shortly their after. Team assignments are by the Guardians soccer staff. Final approval will come from the VSA Director of Soccer. Players will be assigned to teams that best suit their skillset and gameplay.
- Interested players should attend the tryout that corresponds with their own age group. Guardians Soccer technical staff strives to appropriately pair each team in an environment that will challenge, entice develop, and help all players succeed. Anticipated league play will be the Northwest Classic League.*** If we have a team that qualifies to play in the Regional/State League, we will make this decision in correspondence with the team as the State League requires more travel. It is our goal to push our Guardians soccer players to new limits that they can challenge.
- Final determination for league play/tournaments will be made after tryouts and team selections. Number one priority is making sure the competition and overall experience suits our teams. Leagues will be subject to change each year, but our priority will stay the same.
Roster Selection:
June tryouts will determine teams for the Fall and Spring season. The goal is for every Guardians soccer player to compete and have fun at his or her appropriate level. Below is a chart that shows the target number of players that will be selected per team. Some age groups may have multiple teams should there be enough players participating in the tryout.
