This weekend the Guardians Soccer teams participated in the Eau Claire United Invitational Tournament. Due to the tournament being a local one, it was great to see everyone out in support of the teams in their last hit out of the season.
Both the U10 Boys & U10 girls played some exceptional soccer and left the ECU Invitational undefeated. The boys went 3-0, with the girls going 2-0-1. Both teams put on a great show!
The U12 boys had a tough weekend, but showed their quality throughout, even though results may have not gone their way. They finished the weekend with a 1-2 record, with their lone win coming against Eau Claire United 5-2 on Saturday night.
The U16 boys had a great weekend, and although it ended in defeat on Sunday, 1-0 to MCU in the final of their bracket, the U16’s showed they can play with and compete against good opposition. The U16’s still has 2 more league games to finish their season.
Overall, this weekend at the Eau Claire United Invitational was a successful one, and that brings us to our 4 teams that were crowned tournament champions. The U12 girls got over the line after beginning their tournament on Friday night against Eau Claire United. After trailing 1-0, the Guardians came back to win 3-1 and then posted 7-1 and 6-0 wins to be crowned champions!
The U13 boys also began their tournament on Friday night against Eau Claire United and managed a 5-1 win that kick started their tournament. They would keep two clean sheets and score 14 goals on their way to being named the ECU Invitational tournament champions!
The U14 girls have been here before just a few short weeks ago in Blaine, MN at the NSC Qualifier Minnesota, and they kept their win streak rolling. They would only concede 1 goal the whole tournament and score 17 on their way to becoming tournament champions for the second tournament in a row!
Lastly, the U15 coed team showed their grit and determination at the ECU Invitational. They kicked off their tournament with a 2-0 win over fellow NWCL opponents Rice Lake, then registered 2-1 and 2-0 wins in their other group games to set up a final showdown with MYSA U15C Schreiner. The Guardians would be named tournament champions after a 3-0 win!
All our Guardians teams saw success this season and competed at an extremely high level! We look forward to seeing the Guardians back competing again when the 2024-2025 season begins in August!
