Guardians Soccer Weekend Recap (June 3 – 4 ):

VSA Guardian soccer players were back on the soccer fields this past weekend with the U10s participating in the Mega Cup Tournament in Bloomington while the U12s and U14s played in friendly soccer scrimmages in Chippewa . Read below how each team did on what was a very hot weekend of soccer!

U10 Guardians (Head Coach David Drafton):

  • U10 Guardians participated in their first spring soccer tournament of the season taking on teams in the Mega Cup Tournament in Minnesota. It was a weekend of close games for the U10 Guardians as the team was placed in a top flight bracket facing against competitive competition all weekend long.  First and second game for the U10 Guardians was much of the same as they lost 1-0 to Wave SC & EPSC 2013 White United. U10s were able hang with two great teams with great passing play but were unlucky to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Third and final game saw the U10 Guardians play against Lakeville SC Academy with the final score ending a 2-0 lost. U10s had the better play on the day but they were unlucky not to finish their chances. No goals were scored on the weekend for the U10s but much to proud of as they competed and went toe to toe with top competition and received high remarks from the other clubs. Well done U10 Guardian!

U12 Guardians (Head Coach Chris Brooke):

  • U12 Guardians headed to Chippewa to play in two friendly soccer matches. It was a weekend of goals for the U12 team as they faced familiar competition. First game the U12 Guardians faced Eau Claire United 12UB White, winning the game with a staggering scoreline of 14-0. It was a truly a team effort as the U12s were able to completely dominate the game with their possession of the soccer ball and get multiple players on the team goals! Second game was much of the same of the U12s as they faced a MAS 12U Boys team for the second time this season, winning the game 7-1. Lots of goals scored for the U12 team as they continue to be the top competition and a team to fear in the area. Well done U12 Guardians!

U14 Guardians (Head Coach Emmanuel Boamah ):

  • U14 Guardians were in Chippewa as well with a similar weekend as the U12 Guardians. They faced two familiar opponents with lots of goals scored on the weekend. First game the U14 Guardians faced New Richmond  U14 beating New Richmond 2-0. Second game the U14s faced Eau Claire United 15UB White, a team they played once already earlier in the season. U14 Guardians were able to get the double over Eau Claire United beating them 8-0. Both games were comfortable for the U14s as they not only got the goals but they kept a clean sheet in both matches. U14 Guardians sit undefeated on the season as they too continue to lead the way for all U14 players in the Valley. Well done U14 Guardians!
