STRENGTH TRAINING

A well rounded athlete involves a combination of age appropriate strength training and power development. Valley Sports Academy recognizes the importance of an age appropriate strength training program to establish a solid athletic foundation. Our Strength Training facility and programs will help players take their game to the next level, reaching their full athletic potential in their respected sports.

• Increase athlete’s strength and endurance
• TEACH proper technique in weight training to prevent injury
• Provide a full understanding muscle mechanics and safety
• Create long-term results through training
• DEVELOP coordination, mobility and movement skills

Join us the fall for our Intro to Strength and Conditioning classes!

The purpose of our intro to strength and conditioning program is to teach young athletes proper form and technique of basic movements and proper mechanics for speed, agility, and plyometrics, to give them a solid foundation for when they are old enough to begin strength training.

Ages:
8-12

Dates:
September: 5th, 7th, 12th, 14th, 19th, 21st, 26th, 28th

Times:

  • Session 1: 4:30-5:30pm
  • Session 2: 5:45-6:45pm

Cost: $80 

Max of 12 kids per session

The purpose of our sports performance training program is to increase athleticism through proper strength, speed, and agility training. While also reducing an athlete’s risk of injury through mobility training and teaching proper recovery.

Ages: 13 & Older

2 Days Per Week

Dates: September: 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th, 29th

Times:

  • Session 1: 5:45-6:45pm
  • Session 2: 7:00-8:00pm

Cost: $165

Max of 12 kids per session

MEET OUR DIRECTOR OF STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

NICK STIRMEL

Nick comes to VSA with a degree in Fitness and Health/Exercise Science and a minor in Exercise Physiology. He has his NSCA CSCS Certifications and has spent the last 4 years working as a personal trainer. He also brings a long history of hockey playing and coaching to our VSA team!
