During Kindra’s senior year, as a team captain and starting catcher, she helped lead St. Francis Softball to a 49-11 record, a regional win at Arizona, an individual Golden Glove Defensive Award, and an All-Conference award. Additionally, she has a degree in psychology which she has been using to progress the athlete’s mental side of the game. Kindra also is an NCAA umpire and has her own business, St. Croix Valley Umpires, in hopes of growing the game from all areas.
What makes you most excited about joining the VSA family? “I am most excited about joining the VSA family because it will allow me another avenue to continue growing the game of softball. I am currently growing the game through many clinics, lessons, and training umpires, but VSA will allow me to do all that and more on a broader scale. The Chippewa Valley already has a well-established softball tradition but by having additional high-level coaching with an amazing facility, close to home, it will allow athletes to reach their maximum potential. Additionally, with my many connections to college coaches at all divisions and community connections, VSA can be more than just a state-of-the-art facility. VSA can become a place where athletes can progress to playing in college, be successful in high school and/or even have fun with their friends while learning life skills. I am passionate about the game and grateful for the opportunity to bring that passion to VSA and the community.”
General Manager Chase Hoople is excited to bring Kindra on board; “Kindra is an extremely driven go-getter who is always looking for new ways to improve and grow. Aside from her impressive resume, Kindra is a great person who is very passionate about the game of softball and youth development. With her knowledge and insight for what it takes to play softball at a high level, Kindra will be an incredible asset to athletes at Valley Sports Academy ready to reach their next level, and an invaluable member of the VSA family!”
